Project Overview
For this series of risograph posters, I was given the brief to imagine and design a Utopian society with 5 rules.
I believe a positive vision can inspire change. My goal was to design a light-hearted, hopeful society — something that, while idealistic, still feels close to the world we live in today.
Target Audience
My target audience is children, which is why I chose playful language and vibrant, colorful risograph printing. The aim was to spark imagination and positivity.
In response here are the five rules I created:
“Spread the Seeds, Plant the Trees”
-
Everyone is encouraged to plant trees and flowers, with rewards given for the time spent nurturing and caring for the environment. Growing green isn’t just good for the planet—it’s good for you too!
“Please Eat Us Before the Bin”
-
Fighting food waste, feeding those in need. All packaged food waste is collected in brightly colored, designated bags and picked up by special trucks. These are repurposed to support individuals struggling to afford basic necessities, turning waste into a lifeline.
“ Education For All”
-
Education is free for everyone. Each year, adults get a dedicated month to step back into the classroom and learn a skill they’ve always wanted to master. The catch? They pay it forward by teaching their own talents to others—because knowledge is a gift that keeps on giving.
“Better Health, Better Wealth”
-
Every school offers dynamic health lessons where students explore the power of good nutrition—whole fruits, vibrant veggies, and balanced meals—alongside the joy of staying active. From mastering CPR to building lifelong wellness habits. This ensures health becomes the ultimate treasure.
“Free Yourself, and Your Loved Ones”
-
Women’s equality starts with the basics. Free sanitary products are provided in all public bathrooms, making them accessible to everyone who needs them. To balance the cost, taxes on alcohol and cigarettes are increased—because supporting health and dignity is worth it.
Before you go
Despite the injustice and turmoil we see in our society today, the message of optimism and hope remains a powerful reminder.
In a time when it feels more important than ever, we must strive for a brighter future—one filled with understanding and compassion for all.
